Picture Frame with Burlap

Easy to do. If you don’t have an old frame you can get a frame from Michaels Arts and Crafts.

Supplies:

  • Picture frame
  • Chalk Paint and acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Burlap
  • Hot glue gun
  • Sharpie or pen

I bought this beautiful picture frame at an estate sale. The price tag says $5 but it was actually 50% off…$2.50! Woohoo!

I started by taking the back off the frame and tossing the old silk flower print.

Then, I painted one coat of Americana Decor chalk paint in the color “Treasure”.

While that dried, I prepared my burlap. I cut a piece to fit over the foam that was in my frame.

I traced around the outside of the foam, so I could see where to place my word art.

On a blank piece of paper, I played around with my word, “hope”, and after a few tries, I was happy with it. You could also use a stencil for this step if you want it to look more “perfect”.
